Waisman Center Research

Many WECP students choose to participate in ongoing research projects at the Waisman Center. These studies are evaluated and approved by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Institutional Review Boards. Additional information can be found at the Waisman Center Research website.

In Memory of Robin Mittenthal

We are very sad to share news of the unexpected and tragic loss of WECP parent Robin Mittenthal, husband of Daniella Molle and father of Lia and Costa (now WECP graduates).

Robin was a larger-than life kind of person and a dedicated parent volunteer who pitched in every year as foreman of WECP's parent work day/garden clean-up.  A well respected entomologist, he shared his love and passion for the natural world with our children when he annually toured WECP classrooms with his trove of interesting insects.  (If you have a picture of your preschooler fearlessly cupping a giant cockroach, you have Robin to thank.)

And above all, Robin was an incredibly patient, kind, and doting father.  Robin could often be seen in the hallways of the school, engrossed in conversation about any number of topics, feeding off others' enthusiasm for the wonders of the world around us.  We are grateful for his seemingly inexhaustible patience and his demeanor unassuming yet bursting with vitality.
